Getting old

Filed under: Politics — and written by Bertie @ 3:50 pm

Must be a sign of age when war in the middle east provokes not outrage but rather the idle thought that it’s probably worth investing in oil company shares.

Oh, and the less idle thought that I hope Gaston Hochar’s estate is okay. Life without Chateau Musar? Unthinkable.

  1. Don’t think it is a sign of old age more a sign of ‘Oh no more death and misery in the middle east. What’s the weather like outside?’

  2. Or as Crowded House put it, ‘In the paper today, tales of war and waste, but you turn right over to the TV page.’

Of course, knowing the words to Crowded House songs IS a sign that you’re getting older, as is confiscating stray footballs and spraying chemicals on your apple trees.

  3. chemicals on apple trees? Are you mad? ONly foreign muck apples can take such things. Proper English apples (any variety of Loxton) need only soap and water and a lot of attention.
